Sarasota County Libraries do not charge daily overdue fines. However, to encourage on-time returns, there are reminder notices and replacement fees.

If Logo of Many Happy Returns! library materials are not returned within two weeks, the cardholder will receive an invoice for the full cost of the unreturned items two weeks after the items are due to be returned.

After 21 days, the cardholder account will be blocked from checking out other items, requesting reserved items, and accessing many digital resources.

After 60 days from the item's due date, patron accounts will be referred to a materials recover agency called Unique Management (UM).  Unique Management adds a $10 service fee, which is separate from the library's replacement fee.

Replacement charges and the block on the account will be removed when the undamaged item is returned, the replacement cost has been paid, or a replacement item (same format/ISBN) has been provided.

The UM service fee ($10) will remain on the patron's account until paid.

If you have any questions, please contact the library at 941-861-1110.
