BooksYes, someone can pick up a hold for you if they have your library card with them to check out the item for you or if you have signed an agreement form that gives that person permission to retrieve your holds. This is a paper form that must be filled out in person at the circulation desk at any of our library branches, and both persons must be present.  Please ask to have this completed the next time you visit our libraries.  Here's a list of library locations and hours.

You may also allow someone to pick your holds by letting them use your library card.  This way, your friend or family member can pick up the item and use self-checkout to get items to you.  Please use this option cautiously, though. Cardholders are responsible for whatever is checked out on their account.

If you have lost your card, replacements are free and only takes a minute or two.  This will cancel your previous account number and supply you with a new one.  Just come to the branch library's front desk, at any of the Sarasota County Library locations.
