The Library Catalog has the most up-to-date list of library DVDs. This can be accessed online or through the Sarasota County Libraries mobile app.
To find a list of all the library's DVDs online (including children's movies, documentaries, feature films, etc.), follow these steps:
- Go to the Library Catalog.
- Find the search box near the top of the page.
- Set the search method in the left drop-down box to Keyword.
- Type an asterisk (*) in the blank search box..
- Choose DVD from the right drop-down menu.
- Click Submit and a list of all DVDs will appear.
To find only feature films (or other genres) on DVD, try these steps:
- Go to the Library Catalog.
- Find the search box near the top of the page.
- Set the search method in the left drop-down box to Subject.
- Type "feature films" in the blank search box.
- Choose DVD from the right drop-down menu and click Submit.
- A list of subjects will appear. Click on the correct subject, Feature Films.
- A list of all "Feature Films" will appear.
The same steps can be completed with other types or genres of films, such as documentaries, children's movies, horror movies, etc.
To narrow your search further, try the catalog's Advanced Search. You may limit searches by Keyword, Library location, Material type, Language, Year or Publisher.
If you are interested in seeing a list of the new DVDs added to the library's collection, simply look for Recommendations under the search field on the catalog's homepage. You can find current lists for DVDs and Blu-Rays for adults and children, among other lists.
Using the Library's Mobile App:
To find a list of all the library’s DVDs in the Sarasota County Library’s app, follow these steps:
- Open the app by selecting the app icon.
- Select Search the Catalog.
- Select the Movies icon.
- Type an asterisk (*) in the search box.
- Select the Search button on your keyboard and a list of all DVDs will appear.
