Image of wooden shelves full of books with a sign that says "Holds".If an item you have placed on hold is returned, the item is labeled In Transit - Unavailable as soon as it is checked in at the library. The wait time for it to become Ready for Pickup will vary. Average transit time from one library to another is approximately 2-3 regular business days (excluding weekends), barring delays from holidays, inclement weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

If the item is on the shelf at one library and has to be delivered to a different library branch, the item will usually be pulled by staff to fulfill the hold on the following business morning. If the item is checked in that day, it will be labeled In Transit - Unavailable, and the average transit time noted above applies.

If the item on hold is labeled On Shelf in the same library branch that you have chosen for pickup, it will be labeled Ready for Pickup after being checked in by staff.
