You can find all Sarasota County Government employment opportunities, including positions within Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources, in the Sarasota County Job Search site. Here are the steps:
1. All open positions in all departments are listed on the main page. The page will load more results as you scroll down.
2. Use the Search Bar towards the top of the page to search keywords and job titles. Beneath the search bar are also a list of filters such as location, time, and specific job types. Use these filters to help you find the ideal job.
4. When you find a job that you'd like to apply for, click the job title and then apply. The screenshot on the right is the prompt that appears asking you how you would like to apply. With any of the three options that you choose, you'll be taken to a sign in page. You will either have to sign in(if not already signed in) or make an account to continue.
The screenshot below is an example of what the "Sign In" page looks like. This is where, you can click "Create Account", or sign into your account with your email and password if you have one. You can also recover your password if you have forgotten it.
Once signed in, you can follow the prompts to apply for a job and continue to search for other jobs.

Closure Notice
Fruitville Renovation
Renovations and expansion building works will be happening at Fruitville Library, which will require Fruitville Library to temporarily close on Dec. 18. The reimagined library is scheduled to reopen in July 2026.
Holds Pickup Interruption at Fruitville Library
With the closure of the Fruitville Library, there will be a brief period over the holidays when you will be unable to pick up your holds.
To ensure you receive your long-awaited items, please pick them up by 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Our portable library pickup option will be available in early January.
If you prefer, you may also change your hold pickup location to another library before that date. If you need assistance updating your pickup location, please call 941-861-1110.
