When an item you have requested is ready for pickup, you may be notified by automated telephone message or email depending on your preference. You may change your notification preference by calling 941-861-1110.

To see the status of your holds online, log into your account through the Library Catalog. When you see that an item is Ready in the Status column, it is ready to be picked up.You will also see Must be picked up by __-__-__ which will alert you of the date the hold will expire. The item will be held until closing on that day. An item that is ready for pickup is held on the holds shelf for 7 business days until close.

For privacy reasons, telephone notifications do not disclose the title of the item being held. If you have any questions about your holds, just give us a call at 941-861-1110.  We can let you know the titles and the "pick up by" date.

  1. There is a third choice. if you don't choose the telephone or email option, you will be sent a notice thru the mail.
Some patrons still prefer this method.

  2. Thanks, Melisse. I updated the answer to reflect the option for a printed mailed notification.
