The Sarasota County Library app "Find Yourself" is available on both IOS and Android.
Simply go to your app store and search for "Sarasota County Libraries" to download the app onto your device.
To set up your account, open the app and go to My Account. Then touch Account Set Up. Then press on Add Account. Enter your library barcode number and your PIN.
If you do not know your PIN:
- If you have an email address on record with the library, You can request a link that will allow you to reset your PIN. Just go to https://www.sarasotacountylibraries.org/home-library and click on My Account. Click on Forgot Your PIN? You will be asked to resubmit your barcode number, then you will receive an email with the link. (Please note that the link expires after three hours.)
- You can also call the Sarasota County Library's Info Central at (941) 861-1110 and library staff can reset it for you.
Once you have submitted your information, you will receive a message that says you’ve been successful.
Then touch Home on the bottom of the page to explore the features of the app. You can search for items and place holds in Search the Catalog, and renew items, view your holds and pay fines in My Account.
My Account
This page includes many features to manage your library account.
Tap the person+ icon in the top left corner to add another account or to switch between accounts.
The numbers in the horizontal menu indicate how many items are
- Ready for pickup. Tap My Holds to identify which items are ready for pickup.
- Overdue. Tap Checked Out Items for more information.
- Checked Out. Tap Checked Out Items for more information.
- Fees (amount due). Tap Fees for more information.
Tap View My Card or Card Wallet to view your library card's barcode.
Checked Out Items (My Checkouts)
Tap Checked Out Items to view all items checked out on this card in order of due date.
Each item will indicate whether it is overdue, along with its checked out date, due date and the number of times it has been renewed.
Tap the renew button for each item. A popup window will reveal whether the renewal was successful. The renewed item will be placed in due date order.
Fees
Tap on Fees to view any fees charged to the account. These may include fees for a nonresident card, lost item or damaged item.
My Holds
The My Holds screen provides a visual layout of each item on hold.
- Title
- Author
- Item Type. a printed material, audiobook, DVD, Blu-ray, playaway.
- Hold position. Queue: 1 or 1 indicates that this person is first on the list.
- Hold Status. Common statuses include
- On hold.
- In transit
- Requested Item Ready for Pickup.
- Pickup location. The desired pickup location.
Tap the item's Manage button to suspend/freeze or unsuspend/unfreeze the item, to modify pickup location or to cancel the hold. Note: Suspend or Freeze the item in your hold list to choose a set of dates that you will be unavailable. E.g., I will be out of town for the next two weeks and will not be available to pickup an item from the hold shelf.
My Reading History
The My Reading History screen will show recently checked out items.
Note: Reading history must be opted-in. Any items checked out after opting in should appear on the Reading History list.
