Sarasota County Libraries offer access to several resources and databases for finding peer reviewed journal articles, and test prep. See each section below for more information on each of these resources, along with steps for how to access them.

Peer-Reviewed Journal Articles

Sarasota County has excellent databases with access to peer-reviewed journal articles through our Digital Library collection. These are free to use with a current library card.

The databases include APS (American Physical Society) Journals, Expanded Academic ASAP, and GVRL (Gale Virtual Reference Library). Links to each database can be found on our website. Please follow the steps below to access any of these databases.

  1. Visit our main Sarasota County Libraries webpage.
  2. At the top right of the screen, click on Digital Library.
  3. On the digital library page, scroll down until you find Newspaper, Magazine and Journal Articles, and then click on it to open the drop-down menu.
  4. Links to each database will be listed here in alphabetical order. Simply click on the one you wish to access and you will be directed to that database. You’ll then just need to enter your library card number.
