All Sarasota County library materials including books, DVD's, CD's, etc. can be returned to any of the ten libraries in the Sarasota County Library System regardless of where they were checked out. (When returning magazines, it is preferred but not required that they be returned to the same branch from which you checked them out.)

Closure Notice
Fruitville Renovation
Renovations and expansion building works will be happening at Fruitville Library, which will require Fruitville Library to temporarily close beginning Dec. 18. The reimagined library is scheduled to reopen in July 2026.
Holds Pickup Interruption at Fruitville Library
With the closure of the Fruitville Library, there will be a brief period over the holidays when you will be unable to pick up your holds.
Our portable library pickup option will be available in early January.
If you prefer, you may change your hold pickup location to another library before that date. If you need assistance updating your pickup location, please call 941-861-1110.
