On April 27, 2022, Sarasota County Libraries migrated all digital content to CloudLibrary to provide a fuller, more streamlined digital collection and discontinued using OverDrive.
You can read or listen to books on most current mobile devices, e-readers, or your computer, free with your library card. Find out how to get started with our digital books services, and follow the links below for details.
With your Sarasota County Library card, you have access to over 274,000 e-books and audiobooks on CloudLibrary! Items can be checked out for 3 weeks.

Closure Notice
Fruitville Renovation
Renovations and expansion building works will be happening at Fruitville Library, which will require Fruitville Library to temporarily close on Dec. 18. The reimagined library is scheduled to reopen in July 2026.
Holds Pickup Interruption at Fruitville Library
With the closure of the Fruitville Library, there will be a brief period over the holidays when you will be unable to pick up your holds.
To ensure you receive your long-awaited items, please pick them up by 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Our portable library pickup option will be available in early January.
If you prefer, you may also change your hold pickup location to another library before that date. If you need assistance updating your pickup location, please call 941-861-1110.
