There are several options to learn how to use a computer or to learn how to use a specific program such as the Microsoft Office programs or Adobe Creative Suite programs. Please see below for a few recommended online tutorials and courses, in-person courses, and library resources.
Online Tutorials and Classes
The first four selections below will bring you to free tutorials and/or courses provided by GCF Global (Goodwill Industries):
- Basics of Using a Computer - This resource is a complete, free course. It is designed both for beginners and for those who want to update their computer skills. You can complete the whole course, or only select the parts you'd like to learn. If you're new to computers, this course is a good place to start. Registration is recommended so that you keep track of your progress.
- See also their link to "Basics of Using a Computer" tutorials (on YouTube).
- Typing Tutorial - This resource will help you learn and practice your typing skills. If you opt to learn touch typing, it's recommended that you register to save your progress.
