Book Club Bags are a convenient way to provide reading (and conversational) material for local book clubs. Each bag contains 10 copies of a single title along with a biography of the author, a list of discussion questions, and suggested further reading. Book Club Bags are available for children, teens, and adults. Each bag has an 8-week loan period and cannot be renewed.
Please note that patrons will need to contact library staff to place a request for a Book Club Bag. Patrons can call us at 941-861-1110 or come to the library in person at any of the ten branches. Just as with other library items, Book Club Bags can be sent to any branch location for pick up.
The easiest way to access the lists of our various book club bags is by going to our library's Book Club Bag webpage. There you will find categories for all of our Juvenile, Young Adult, Adult, and New book club titles. Each bag will show you it's location and availability (i.e., "on shelf", "checked out", "collection maintenance", etc.) exactly like all other materials in our catalog so that you can see its status.
