Yes, you can unsubscribe from some or all emails from the Sarasota County Library System. To change these settings, open an email you've received from us. Our emails will often come from libraryinfo@scgov.net or library-do-not-reply@scgov.net.

Scroll through the email until you see the Manage Subscription option. Typically this is located near the bottom of the email.

Click Manage Subscription at the bottom of one of our emails

You should now be taken to a form with checkboxes where you can change your settings.

Click the box next to the emails you'd like to receive so that a checkmark appears in the box (or if there's a checkmark already next to an item and you don't want to receive those type of emails, then click the box until there isn't a checkmark next to it) and then click the blue Save My Preferences button.

We have three main types of notifications. Keep the checkboxes checked for the types of emails you'd like to receive.

  • General Announcements. To receive announcements from the library (such as library closures).
  • Library Services. To keep receiving the Reminder, Hold and Overdue notifications, keep this checkbox checked.
  • Newsletters. We send monthly newsletters to our patrons (an opt-out process), and occasionally special focused newsletters (such as Off the Page and One Book).

Once you've reviewed your selections and made any desired changes, then select Save My Preferences.

Keep the checkboxes checked for the emails you'd still like to receive.

If you'd like to receive phone notifications about your holds that are ready for pickup, please contact us.

We offer phone notifications (call) or email.

Call us at 941-861-1110, text us at 941-413-2044, or we're available for online chat or email here.
