Sarasota County Libraries are improving access to library resources for those living with vision loss! Now in county libraries, patrons have access to top-of-the-line assistive technology for in-library use. High quality magnification tools with color contrast options allow easy reading of newspapers, magazines, and other materials. Optimal character recognition (OCR) quickly captures text on a page and converts it to speech. Braille refreshable displays make it possible for patrons to interact with computers and mobile devices, receiving output and providing input via braille.

Current Low Vision Tools Available
