- guidelines for how to give items (books, DVDs, etc.).
- information about giving to the Sarasota County Library System's "Make a Difference Fund", which supports services at each of the ten public libraries.
- information and instructions for giving to the Sarasota County Library System through the Library Foundation for Sarasota County.
If you would like to donate books or funds toward books for the library's collection in honor of a person's memory, use the Make a Difference Fund Donation Form. Please click on the form's link and see below for instructions:

- Save the form to your desktop first.
- Fill out the form, and include the donor's name, amount, adult/children's collection/programming, in memory or honor of and an additional acknowledgement name (if needed).
- Save the completed form again for your records, and print it out.
- Mail completed form and check to:
Selby Library, 1331 1st St, Sarasota, FL 34236 - The Collection Development Librarian will select and order books. When the books arrive, gift plates will be placed in each book and a letter with the titles selected will be sent to donor as well as additional name, if indicated on form.
