Sarasota County Libraries are happy to welcome any teen at least 13 years old who wishes to volunteer! We currently have volunteer opportunities for Teen Shelvers and Teen Advisory Board members.

All Sarasota County Library volunteer opportunities, as well as additional Sarasota County volunteer opportunities, such as through Parks and Recreation, can be found on the county's website here.

All volunteers will need to fill out an online application, which can be found here. Volunteers under 18 years of age will also need to provide parental consent upon acceptance.

Closure Notice

Closure Notice: Libraries and History Center

Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 We will resume normal hours Saturday, Nov. 29.

Fruitville Renovation

Renovations and expansion building works will be happening at Fruitville Library, which will require Fruitville Library to temporarily close on Dec. 18. The reimagined library is scheduled to reopen in July 2026.
