How long can I borrow a hotspot?
You can borrow a hotspot for 2 weeks and may renew it up to 5 times, as long as there are no other patrons on hold. (Contact library staff to renew it).

Any Sarasota County Library location. Search for it here.
Should I place a hold on a Wi-Fi hotspot?
Yes, we encourage you to place a hold due to the very high demand. You will have 3 days to pick up your hotspot once it has arrived at your specific library branch. After that time, it moves on to the next person in line. Search the catalog here.
Can the Wi-Fi hotspots be renewed?
Yes, unless there is a waiting list. Contact library staff to renew the hotspot by phone (941-861-1110), through our Ask Us chat, texting and emailing service, or in-person at any of the library branch locations.
What comes in a Wi-Fi hotspot kit?
The Wi-Fi hotspot kit includes the device, power cord, adapter, and Quick Start Guide.
How do I use a Wi-Fi hotspot?
Power - Hold power key for 3 seconds to turn on/off. If device does not turn on, charge the battery.
SSID (name of network) - From your computer or mobile device search for available networks and select SRQLibrariesHotspot#xxx.
Security Key - The key and/or password is indicated on the back of the device. Enter exactly as shown.
Hotspots can support up to 10 devices total.
Who can borrow a Wi-Fi hotspot?
Patrons who have current Sarasota County Library cards in good standing, and who are 18 and older. This includes non-resident cardholders. Reciprocal patrons are not included.
What is the coverage area for the Wi-Fi hotspot?
Coverage not guaranteed and network experience may vary by area. For more detailed information visit the T-Mobile Coverage Map. Devices provided by the library use 4G network.
