According to CloudLibrary's FAQ site, "Libraries have to purchase an e-book in the same way they purchase physical books. The publishers require us to abide by one copy/one user model just as we do with physical books." This can cause long hold times, just as in the case of physical items.

You might notice a change in availability with a CloudLibrary ebook or downloadable audiobook.  Due to the fluid nature of our collections' publication dates and holds list (these often change with publishers and patrons changing their minds by placing and removing their holds) the amount listed as a wait time is the best possible estimate. It is considered a prediction and can never be considered accurate.

Once the item is published and the hold waitlist is filled, the wait times will go down significantly, as we regularly check the holds list and purchase additional copies to reduce wait times.  We recommend either placing yourself on hold or saving the title to your 'Saved' list and periodically checking on its status.  You can also ask us to check on the item through our Ask Us chat, email or texting service, or give us a call during regular business hours at 941-861-1110.
