Accelerated Reader Books (AR) assists with tracking children's practice and progress with reading. When searching the library catalog, there is now an option to search for Juvenile books by Lexile Measure, Accelerated Reader, and Age/Grade Level.
1. Go to the Library Catalog.
2. Search for an item. For example, let's search for "The Wild Robot"
3. The library record will display a brief description of the book, what formats (Book, Audiobook) are available, how many hold requests and copies, and a new feature: More in this Series!
4. Further down, the record displays Reading Level. This will display: Lexile Measure, Accelerated Reader, and Publisher-Recommended Age and Grade for this particular title. Below is the Reading Level information for "The Wild Robot".
5. To find additional Accelerated Reader titles for this Accelerated Level or would like to adjust the Accelerated Reader level to find other titles, select the Green Accelerated Reader box.
6. Under Interest Level, you can select: Any Interest Level, Lower Grades (K-3), Middle Grades (4-6), Middle Grades Plus (6 and up), or Upper Grades (9-12)
7. You can also adjust the Book Level Range by moving the navy-blue circles to increase or decrease the range. Select the Search button to make the change.
