All databases and online resources available to Sarasota County Libraries patrons can be accessed from the Digital Library page of our website. To navigate to the Digital Library page from our main Sarasota County Libraries webpage, click on "Digital Library" at the very top right of the screen (see it highlighted and circled in red below).

Once you click on "Digital Library", you will see our main digital library page with resources sorted by topic. Each of the headings down the middle of the page presents a drop-down menu when clicked on with resources tied to each topic.

For example, selecting Books and Reading will present links and tutorials for our eBook services: Hoopla, CloudLibrary, Flipster, PressReader, and more.

If you would like to view a list of all of our digital resources listed alphabetically, you can do so by clicking on "My Library" at the top of the screen, which will reveal "Digital Library" with a helpful list of dropdown links, including "Digital Library A-Z" which is highlighted below.

Some of our databases require a login with a valid library card before they can be used. If a database requests Patron ID, this is the same as the library card number.

  1. When entering library card numbers, enter all 14 digits of the number without spaces.
  2. If the databases requests a PIN, this is the PIN number tied to the card, which is usually set as the last 4 digits of the library card number by default. If you have forgotten your PIN, call us at 941-861-1110 to reset it to default or to a PIN of your choice.

It is also important to note that while most resources are available from any location, certain digital library resources are only available from inside the library. Resources with this requirement will say so in the description of the resource. See the statements highlighted and underlined in red in the screenshot below for an example.
