There are a few ways you can renew library materials: online, through the Sarasota County Library's Mobile App, by phone, or in person at any Sarasota County Library location.
Online (Enhanced Catalog)
- Go to the library catalog.
- If your screen darkens: Look to the bottom of the page for a white bar notifying about site cookies. Click the X to close the bar and continue.
- In the upper right corner, log in with your library card number and your PIN. Speak with library staff if you have any issues with your PIN or click I forgot my PIN to reset it.
- After logging in, click on My Bookshelf located in the bottom left corner of your screen to view your checked out items OR click on your name in the upper right corner of your screen and proceed.
- Select CHECKOUTS. You will be able to see what you currently have checked out. Click on Renew Items and select the option: "Renew due soon" You can renew each individual item by clicking the dark blue Renew button located at the end of each item. The Due Date will update if renewed successfully.
Online (Basic Catalog)
- Go to the basic catalog and log in.
- In the My Account tab, select Items Out.
- Click the checkbox next to any items you would like to renew and click Renew Selected Items, or Renew All Items.
- If successful, you will receive a message confirming that the items have been renewed.
Renew in the Sarasota County Libraries Mobile App
- Open the app by clicking on the "Find Yourself at the Library" icon.
- Select My Library Account.
- Select Checked Out Items and you will be re-directed to My Checkouts.
- All items you currently have checked out will now appear on the screen.
- If you are renewing one individual item, click on the Renew button.
- To renew multiple items, select each item by clicking on the circle followed by clicking the Renew Selected button towards the bottom of your screen.
- A message will appear letting you know if your item(s) was successfully renewed.
Please note: to be able to renew online or through the app, you must renew before the due date. If your item is overdue, please contact the library for assistance.

Please call (941) 861-1110 during regular hours for our Info Central department: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m to 8 p.m. and Friday/Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please have your library card number ready. You can also contact Info Central online to renew items through their "Chat with us" linked here.
All materials may be renewed except for materials with patron holds or if they have already been renewed 5 times. If your items are overdue, you may only be able to renew by phone or in person.
