There are several options to learn how to use a computer or to learn how to use a specific program such as the Microsoft Office programs or Adobe Creative Suite programs. Please see below for a few recommended online tutorials and courses, in-person courses, and library resources.
Online Tutorials and Classes
The first four selections below will bring you to free tutorials and/or courses provided by GCF Global (Goodwill Industries):

You can complete the whole course or select the parts you'd like to learn. If you're new to computers, this course is a good place to start. Registration is recommended so that you keep track of your progress.

- Specific Computer or Computer Program Tutorials by the Dummies Creators - This resource has short tutorials on various computer related topics, in addition to numerous other topics. This resource is good for learning how to do something specific with a computer or a program, but not as a getting started guide. Their book series, Dummies, is a great resource for getting started guides though, and many of their books can be found in the Sarasota County Library system. Please click here to view the titles available in our catalog or scroll on down to see a few of the many titles available. No registration is required to access any of the online tutorials.
- Grow with Google - Google also has a few resources for learning computer skills. However, these resources only cover advance computer skills, not basic skills like the resources above. This resource has various tips on how to use Google products for a small business, and this resource has tutorials on Android app development and website development. Some tutorials and courses may require you to create an account or sign in to view.
