Yes, there are a variety of resources students, parents, caregivers, and educators can access to help with school from home. A Sarasota County Library card will give you access to all of our online databases and resources, including eBooks, journal articles, and test prep. To view a full list of our digital resources, please visit our Digital Library page. Many of our resources are also available as mobile apps for smartphones and tablets. We have a list on our website here. Don't have a library card yet? Click here for information on how to get a library card.

If you cannot get to a library in person, we also have a video chat option - click here for the form and to get more information about that.

Library staff are also available for virtual homework or research help through our Ask Us! service. You can call, email, text, or chat online with us Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In addition to our online resources, all of our libraries have reopened for browsing and borrowing materials, as well as other limited services. We're also still offering our contactless curbside pickup service for patrons that wish to borrow items without coming into the library. Simply place an item (or items) on hold, and then call us once the item is ready for pick-up to schedule a curbside appointment. Each library card holder can have up to 20 items on hold at one time. For more information on how this service works, please check out our Curbside Pick-up Service page on our website. To browse lists of various recommended library materials, including educational resources and Sunshine State materials, please click here

We're also offering a variety of To-Go Kits featuring crafts, games, and more. These can be picked up in person at one of our service desks or through our Curbside Pick-Up Service. No library card is needed, and nothing in the kits needs to be returned to the library.

In addition to these resources, the following virtual resources are also available for students, educators, parents, and caregivers with a library card. These are just a select few of the resources we have available. For a complete list with links, please visit our Digital Library page and select the Homework Help tab.
