You may change an item's pickup location in either the basic catalog or the enhanced catalog, including items already in "Ready for Pickup" status.

If the item is already listed as "Ready for Pickup", the item will be placed in transit to the new hold pickup location.

The Sarasota County Libraries app also allows changing the pickup location for most items except for those in "Ready for Pickup" status.


Enhanced Catalog

In the enhanced catalog, change each item's pickup location individually.

  1. Login to the enhanced catalog at Catalog.SarasotaCountyLibraries.org with your library card number (no spaces) and PIN.
  2. Click the Bookshelf tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click "Holds".
  4. Click "Pickup Location" for the item to change its pickup location.
  5. Select the new pickup location for the indicated item.
  6. Click "Confirm Location".

Basic Catalog

In the basic catalog, change one or more items to a single pickup location.

  1. Login to the basic catalog with your library card number (no spaces) and PIN.
  2. Click "Holds/Requests" in the left menu.
  3. Click the checkbox next to the item(s) that you would like to change their pickup location.

  4. Click "Change Pickup Location" button at the bottom of the list.
  5. Click the dropdown menu to select the new pickup location for the listed item(s).

  6. Click "Submit".

Sarasota County Libraries app

  1. Open the Sarasota County Libraries app on your mobile phone or tablet.
  2. Tap "My Account".
  3. Tap "Holds".
    Note: A checkmark bubble and "Manage" button will appear if the item may be changed in the app. If the checkmark bubble is not available, please use the basic or enhanced catalog to adjust your holds.

  4. Tap the "Manage Button" for the item that you would like to edit. Alternatively, select the checkmark bubble for multiple items and tap "Manage Selected."
  5. Tap "Modify Pickup".
    Manage Selected list allows you to unsuspend (unfreeze), suspend (freeze), modify pickup locations or cancel hold.
  6. Tap the new pickup location.
  7. Tap "Save".

 

Closure Notice

Fruitville Renovation

Renovations and expansion building works will be happening at Fruitville Library, which will require Fruitville Library to temporarily close beginning Dec. 18. The reimagined library is scheduled to reopen in July 2026.

Holds Pickup Interruption at Fruitville Library

With the closure of the Fruitville Library, there will be a brief period over the holidays when you will be unable to pick up your holds.
Our portable library pickup option will be available in early January.

If you prefer, you may change your hold pickup location to another library before that date. If you need assistance updating your pickup location, please call 941-861-1110.
